Bell Housing Shift Shaft Seal Question

I am replacing my shift shaft seal and I took them out over a week ago and the part just came today and of course I dont remember which way the seals go. I have looked in the manual but the diagrams arent so clear and I want to double check with what you all have to say. The 2 seals that I have in the blue box, does the spring end face into the uj bellows? if so do both of seals face the same direction? I know when I did the upper half of the stern drive they were opposite directions. Also the bushing I have in the yellow box it sits flush on the the yellow circle i have correct? or does it sit flush at the top of the exhaust port. Thanks for all of the help!!

both down. put grease in the middle

some of the kits come with a brass piece that presses in from the bottom with both seals already installed.

When you say both seals down you mean the spring end faces the exhaust port or does it face the uj bellows?

If someone could answer that question I would appreciate it because I need to get this done today. Thanks!

down as in towards the exhaust cavity. Those seals are meant to seal water from entering the shift cable cavity, nothing else, that's why the both of them face the same direction.
