hey ct guys need some info oldsaybrook whats to do??
 

Hi ct guys thinking of going to oldsaybrook for a weekend,any info would be great...places to eat drink night life ect thanks

other CT'ers may know better than me but I'll give it a shot...

assuming you are overnighting at between the bridges marina there are quite a few places to see. the marina itself has a nice restaurant/bar called back porch which gets busy during the night. The marina also has a pool, bathrooms, showers, etc.

Leaving the marina: there are two beach bars just east of the ct river: lennys and pavilion beach bar. they are both located in old Lyme. If you head north on the river you can check out a few sand bars and restaurants. Ill list them below:

Essex: Essex island marina, griswold inn, black seal bar (2 small bars)

Chester: Goodspeed opera house, gaelston house (elegant bar restaurant)

Hamburg cove is a popular raft hang out spot, good for swimming and grilling.

Depending on how far north you want to go there are a few more things in Middletown, haddam, Portland, etc.

If you don't want to do any river cruising you can always hit up mystic, niantic, or the Thames. Depends on what you are looking to do and how much boating you want to include.

Thanks for the info,staying at the maria you mentioned,wanted to do one day in town and one day of boating in the area,for the one nt in town somewhere I could walk,for drinks and live music this way I can realy turn it up if I want,I have been there before but not during the summer season
