LOTO Assistance

If we take a trip to the LOTO, where do you recommend we stay and in what part? Osage, etc.

1. We're going not for Labor day, Shootout, etc, but during a slow week, as we have a group going and we want to just relax and all be able to do separate things, but do things as a group as well.

2. We're looking to be close to things to do, and at least from my last trip, Tan-Tar-A seemed to be a nice place, boat launch, parking for rigs, slips, rooms, etc. Close to Shooters, and I'd imagine other places.

3. What places are there that are must go or must see?

4. Any places that are good to anchor and just wade in the water and drink some beverages and shoot the breeze?

Thanks!

Grand Glaze Inn is nice and close to shooters 21 and partycove.

You should think about the Shootout weekend. It is not THAT busy and after Sun afternoon, the lake is real quiet. There are tons of places and most are pretty nice. I would try and stay somewhere between the 5 and 25mm on the lake.

Tan-Tar-A or Lodge of 4 Seasons are your best choice for a group. Lots of on and off water activities for everyone. Both are located near enough to everything.

Places: Party cove is a must on saturday and check out Porto Cima cove sunday for a places to anchor, swim, and schmooze with everyone. Porto Cima is a lot quieter and better if you've got the kids going. There are also hundered of coves to anchor in on the west side. Lots of them are being developed though. No too many places to wade (deep water, muddy bottom).

Nightlife in that area: Topsiders on friday, Shooters on saturday is the standard drill.

Restaraunts I like: Dockknockers for crab (4MM), Backwater Jacks for everything (especially Pain In the Asses) at 18MM (also a great place to hangout on sunday evenings), Dorseys Pit Stop (smoked wings are great and a fun place to hang out anytime) 21MM, Paradise for sunday AM eggs benedict (25MM), restaraunt at Bridgeport, bad docks but good food and cute bartenders (right past GG bridge).

That should keep you busy on the water for a couple days.

Yup, what Gary said!

Oh, and I would suggest you do the run to Big Dick's and shoot the minnow if you have time. It's a fun thing to do with a group like that. And kids can even do that too if you have them along. They will think it's really cool.
