At 2009 Desert Storm, I believe the tune was C16 with water injection.

After DS, I think the 1500HP (mild) tune needed less octane still. Even at the mild tune, it was some comedy seeing that boat try to keep wakeless...lol.

Yes, big chief. 2009 was 116 and H2O injection. It runs 100LL in havasu for its "low" hp setup.

What is the HP for how it was set up for the shoot out? Just curious.

Congrats to Greg,Michelle, and the crew over at GT Performance. When I had there 33 daytona built for them at Eliminator I would of never thought the boat would of ran this fast!!!!! We did build a carbon fiber laid up boat with decolite bulkheads and plywood interior to save on weight but we did not cut corners with options or full cabin interior during the build. Greg and Michelle built the boat to win there class at the shootout that's why we built a 33' instead of a 36' daytona because we did not think we could win in the next class because of the faster Skater's and MTI's. So with that said all the hard work and $$$$$$ you have spent has paid of for you and you deserve all the congrats you will get for winning top gun in a 33 Daytona. JUST AMAZING! Congratulations to my good friends Greg and Michelle!

+1, you guys and Eliminator did a bangup job building the boat.
Congrats to my friends Greg, Michelle, and GT Performance. My friends and I started helping Greg work on his 26 Daytona at LOTO when he first started the Shootout. I'm so glad he teamed up with Gary and the GT performance guys, and finally got Top Gun. I am also happy that no major problems have happened over the years and he has safe runs always. Now he can retire knowing he accomplished what he aways wanted to do! Now it is just happy boating with the detuned 1500hp 33 footer that still runs 160. Be safe!

1800 ponies, and Dustin is right, it runs on pump E85, but they did run race E85 at LOTO for convenience and a little extra safety margin. It was detuned for the summer and produced 1500hp, and that is what they will put it back to, so he can use it for poker runs and pleasure boating.

160? Ha ha my 33' went 165 with dual 1200hp! That thing is a monster even with the detuned motors. What an awesome job and an awesome weekend for some of the nicest people you'll ever meet! Its truly an honor to be associated with them.

To be clear, it does run on pump E-85. Only for the LOTO run did they use the Rocket Brand Race E85 because it was easier to buy and have shipped in a drum then try to find pump E-85. This boat has run on the pump E-85 many times.

It also does not take 20psi of boost, actually less and when switching to E85, the boost increases 1-2psi due to the volume of fuel.

Please elaborate on why the boost would increase with the volume of fuel.

Congrats!!!!

If there is 30 % more fuel injected to achieve about the same energie ,there is more volume used by fuel instead of air wich raise the boost
