Outerlimits SV52 Top V Bottom at LOTO

2 Attachment(s)
We would like to congratulate Joel Begin and Mike Fiore on claiming the award for the fastest Vee Bottom at this years Lake Of The Ozarks Shootout! Joel's Outerlimits SV52 recorded a number of passes at 138mph. The SV52 is powered by a pair of Mercury Racing Turbo Charged 1350's. Joel's boat is full pleasure boat commonly seen on the Canadian Poker Run Circuit. We'll be back next year to up the speed!!

Not too impressed with a 150mph 52 v-bottom with full cabin? You know LOTO is not known for its glass like water conditions right? Wow, Megan Fox is a dog right? :lolhit:

Fenderjack 08-27-2012 04:56 PM

Oh most def impressed with the speeds of the boat, esp for the power, but they were getting tossed around pretty good. I would figure it would have been a smoother ride in a 52 footer is all.

Its a handheld camera, at those speeds and the water conditions, your gonna have a few bumps.

Tough to read the water on video, could see when he found good water and blipped it to 130 it was on a rail.

The sawing on wheel just under 100 surprised me too, must be the LOTO water.

Wow !! When guys 'change teams' they take all their bud's along for the ride...........it's official, call it a trend.

Fenderjack 08-27-2012 05:20 PM

Agreed, the water was hard to tell, but I didn't see any caps. I am not trying to start a pissing match, like I said the speed is very very respectable, just looks like he is really going at it as far as control goes. Still looks like they getting beat up on the ride. Also I am not the typical hate on a boat brand because I have another brand.

Unless you have run on LOTO when it is all stirred up you do not have an appreciation for the nasty conditions of waves going all over and bouncing back off the sides. It is an absolute mess.

How is your SV43 coming along. Is it finished yet and what do you think. Any pictures of the finished product.

chattviper 08-27-2012 06:34 PM

I assure you the ride was very smooth. Hopefully they will post vids from the mounted go pro's. I did my best to keep camera still. LOTO is like no other lake I've ever been to. It's very rough and this boat handled it very well.

Take a look at my ride in the 29 SVL OL....now that was a ride!

If you ride in it, you won't hear it. Not sure why the video has that sound, but with the turbo motors being almost silent, then the wrap around windshield deflecting the air, the camera seems to be amplifying noise. You ride in this boat, you'll want one, it does not make loud sounds, its literally one of the most solid boats. Everything is through bolted and solid and does not rattle like almost all other boats. Panels don't fall off in rough water either.

Fenderjack 08-27-2012 07:01 PM

Yah I guess your rite, never been in anything ruff. LOTO is as ruff as it gets huh, esp in that area of it? Not like I have been in the ocean or boat on the Chesapeake or anything thing like that.. :daz:

I would like to see the vids of the go-pro's for sure, maybe make things less abundant then they look in the hand held vid.. Like I said not bashing a 50ft v that can produce such a great speed, just saying it looks like it took a beating, looked like there was alot of driving going on.

.

Yea it's a washing machine with no rhyme or reason to the waves.

Cash Bar 08-27-2012 07:48 PM

LOTO is a washing machine. Same water we ran 168 in on Thursday was tough to navigate SAFELY on Sat am at 115-120

redbud35 08-27-2012 08:05 PM

Nobody understands how rough it really is here until they see it on a busy weekend. I was on a 65' Sunseeker getting tossed around pretty good after the shootout. I'll take 4-5's in the ocean over this crap any day.

skater40 08-27-2012 08:09 PM

The hand held camara moving back and forth ,gave a sensation that makes it look rougher than it really was.The slapping sound of the boat hiitting the rollers definatly tells you that it was fairly rough but nothing that boat wouldnt soak up.
The rollers hitting the side and rolling back out is the reason why Mike is working the wheel.Good job.

John;
I have been boating at LOTO for >20 years and the water can be very big, unpredictable and challenge the best of boat captains. I was personally in this boat on this particular tour.

I have a 47 fountain (with a pair of 1200 Merc's in it) just to run around LOTO,,, and there was NO comparison,,, this SV52 was simply amazing, in the toughest condition.

Congrats to the team, for bringing this wonderful boat from Canada to LOTO, and securing the TOP Gun V bottom during the 2012 shootout. They deserve it, hope to see them in K West Poker run later this year !

Joel's 52 is a work of art....We were.riding beside him at 115 friday evening engaging a lot of big boat wake and they looked rock solid.....Joel and his wife and crew are all super nice people as well

SLOWRIDE-388 08-27-2012 09:09 PM

Talked to them at the condo, and gave the SV52 a good look. That beast is very impressive for sure. Good meeting you guys. Hope to see you at the lake again.

Shallow Minded 08-27-2012 09:13 PM

Stunning boat! Thanks to the crew and Mike for taking time to stop by the birthday party at that hole-in-the wall bar on Friday with all the usual suspects of LOTO. Hope you enjoyed our playground!
