Maybe we should start a "show pics of your life jackets" thread. :party-smiley-004:

I kinda like the look of the orange Mustangs, might be the next "fashion statement" :-)

We wear anytime in snotty water or above cruise speeds. Tether always
Had an argument with the wife when she fired the eng's up still on the trailer & didn't have a vest on our 3 year old. She said she was gonna get it after it was in the water. I told her what if there was fuel fumes or a leak in the eng compt the blower didnt get out & you got a big fire. If he has his vest on you toss him in & jump out yourself & let her burn. She now understands. I think |
I always make my passengers wear their life vests when we are going on a run. If something goes wrong you can't hit a pause button and dig out life vests before the crash. If people don't wanna follow my rules they don't have to ride on my boat. It is my responsiblity to try to keep my passengers as safe as possible.

The more we talked about this, the more sense it made to us. Now we wear them all the time.
Thanks Jay |
Unless i am going to run hard then no, i do wear my teather but if going for a slow cruise then no... honestly i look at it like the helmet law, you take care of yourself the way you want to but respect others if they dont want to wear them. there isnt anything like blasting down the lake without one

I ordered Lifelines for me and my g/f that match some of the boat colors. I'll look for a pic.

I wear mine anytime my boat is on plane , so does my Gf. You wouldn't believe the people that point and laugh at me/her when cruising around, just happened this wknd at hotboat shoot out. I saw hundreds of people ripping around and racing and I can't recall seeing ANYONE else wearing them. I think I could read this guys lips as he was pointing at me and laughing as he said look at the azzhole in his Baja with his stupid life jacket on, of course he didn't know my boat runs 100 mph though either. I watched guys in little 100 plus mph outboards and flat bottom drag boats doing drive bys at the sand bar at 100+ with nothing on. I have Mustamg 100 mph jackets, I know they are not lifelines but are better than most cheapies, Smitty
These guys seem like they are in a state of arrested development, and never mentally progressed past high school if they are giving you a hard time. They are probably boozing it up, and then taking their boats out, too. I'd give them a wide berth. Michael |
