Well, that's a tough one...It depends on who was where when and why and how they did it.

Some did it with a pesky little turn in the way and others held onto what was had elsewhere in a different time and place....We'll never know....

Because of the new equiptment rules this year several classes that ran the Kilo in Savannah set new records. Because of at least a four hour delay, very few boats were able to run and conditions were not very good. Drambuie did not run because of the conditions.

Super Cat - Tommy Bahama @ 132.258

Super Cat Light - Dirty Duck @ 112.884

APBA intends to offer Kilo runs in Cleveland. They are waiting on final Goast Guard approval. Poker run boats will also be allowed to run in two classes and will be recognized by UIM.

Well, you speak of "world champion speed record holders," I'm assuming you mean Kilo Records...if so, Larry summed it up nicely. The conditions simply weren't right for all-out speed runs. From what I understand there was a big bend in the river which prevented many from competing and the speeds that are posted are conservative for many of those boats, I'm sure....You know, they had more in them. And some speeds posted are carry-overs from last year.

Default HOLD ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How does 112.8 beat Zipp Express's 112.9 last year?????

New equipment changes???? Please explain what new equipment changes would warrent a slower speeds being new records.

Regardless of conditions the speeds for both classes were slower!

I think I'm on to something here!

World Record – This is the standard UIM measured, certified kilo course competition where boats in all of the eligible classes will compete to set world speed records recognized by the only world governing authority for all of boatracing, UIM, the Union Internationale de Motonatique. APBA Offshore Speed Records are the only ones in the United States recognized by the UIM. Due to equipment changes that affected top speed capabilities, the records in the following classes will be retired so that the top speeds achieved in Savannah will be NEW records:

Super Cat

Super Cat Light Inboard

Super Vee Light Single and Twin

Thers the rub! There were no equipment changes!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have a rule book maybe you could enlighten me to the changes that "could affect top speed".

Thanks
