Anyone heading to the Clearwater Races?
 

Just seeing if anyone is heading out there this year. It's Sept 27-30th.

We are on land as of now since we are working on the C.C. but got a hotel at the Hilton next to pier 60. We are locals but rather just stay and not deal with the traffic and all that, plus the party is on the beach anyway.

Should be out there from Fri on. Hope to see a few people out there as well! Always a good time each and every year.

I'm thinking about going. I won't be bringing my boat though...

Is this going to be at the same location as the last SBI race?

The boats will dock and display at Coachman park just before the beach. The race will be from the Pier 60 area to just past Frenchys.

Each night there is something going on in the area as well.

The dry dock party was awesome last time. Good bands and a great time.

Have future inlaws coming intown, might have to try and change that....

Friday nights?

We saw it last year and were on the docks just not in the "restricted" area. I didn't try to get in but figured it was with the VIP pass only.

I Got those for the year prior (2010) and didnt feel they were of great value. As I stayed at the Hyatt were the "party" was so I already had that access already and we missed the Fri night events that year beacuse of work.

I would like to do that dry dock party though as it did look like a good time last year for sure.

Which day is the Dry Dock party? I'll be working Fri til 7 AM Sat before I can head down from Daytona. I hope there are still things going on.

Fri night there is a good one and I saw there was something Sat night with bands and all that also in Coachman park if I recall too.

Sunday stays fun all day after the races. I will be at the new beach side Hooters for sure.

Also for those who don't know or arnt local. Next to were Captain Memos Pirate ship leaves/docks and just behind the Hyatt, a new hotel went up. It is a Holiday inn. They have a roof top bar there called the "Crows nest" and it is all new and not bad with a great view of the races and all of the beach. Better than the view at the Hyatt view if you ask me.

Had my first trip to this area in May. Stayed at the Sand Pearl and spent many an evening (and many a dollar!) at Frenchy's. Great area! Had a blast. Maybe next year I will head back down there for the races.

Both great places, I LOVE the Sand Pearl they are nop notch all the way around. If you get the chance definitely come and stay around the area during the races. The Pearl is an excellent place too as it's right along the straight away run and right in the mix of all the fun.

Shepards is always a blast as well. Always fun to hang with the race teams there.

Agreed also the tail on Sunday afternoon is ALWAYS good too.

I think they are doing a party there Sat night that weekend but dont quote me on that.

Does anyone go out to three rooker island during or after the races??

We have a group heading down from Chi-Town agin this year!!!!! Like three years in a row.......it's a blast!!!!!!!! Too much to type.....but it's worth the trip.....

Thinking of heading over.. my brother lives in St Pete..Just may have to make an appearance.

One week from today .... let the fun start

Might bring son to dry pits for GEICO visit. Not sure about bringing boat around yet.

I will be there for the weekend with 2 of my buddies visiting friends in Sarasota Thursday and Friday heading up Saturday Morning and staying until Monday evening, we have tickets and catching the Redskins Vs. Bucs Game Sunday Evening after the races!!!

I hate it....we just sold our tix to that game to go to the races.

Worst part was (look for it in lot 6). A whole group of my buds hired a HUGE smoker and the crew to do some southern BBQ, ribs, chicken, pork, and all. It's all you can eat and also all you can drink.......That will be a party if you see them there.

46 Deg. in Chi-Town right now can't wait to leave.......

Had to scratch today's flight with work... Flying down Saturday morning staying until Monday for races and football game!!
