What ever happened to the CTSv outboard?
 

You sure would think that the higer-end builders would be using them by now, no?

Expensive, I agree for an outboard. The Cigerette, Nortech, Outerlimits, and MTIs of the world are building large CCs, and to them and their buyers whats a measly $60K-$65K per motor? Even if the outboard was $70K each, you could buy 4 of them for less than one 1350.

I'd love to hear what one of them sounds like, given that they have essentially a small block V8.

a verado 300 runs 20k , you would need 2 verados to equal one 557 so price is not that off the mark..
its also a complete package (engine,drive,hydraulic steering)
so comparing to a complete 525+drive+steering again price not that far off.

tough to sell anything that doesnt say Mercury on it especially in the performance offshore world....
look how long its taken Illmor to make headway and they have an excellent product..

Yeah, you're right about that. But still, more power, cool factor, even 2 of these hung on a Cig TG CC would be pretty awsome and probably would run strong

I wonder if you can pulley and chip them ;)

If the lower ends held up, that would be one hell of a combination...
