The 35 was a 2002 and the 38 is a 2008 so most of the difference is with the updated cockpit ( i can sit down in the 38 and not hit my knees against the dash , im 6'4" ) having the windshield is big advantage over the flip up wind screens.
The bigger gps is way nicer and easier to use. it's a lot easier to get on the bow with steps built into the cabin door.
The 35 got on plane a lot faster and easier , both are about same speed. ride is comparable, in the rough advantage goes to the 38 but not huge difference.
The 35 didn't have the cleats half way up the bow that are on 38's which was always a pain tying up to other cigs.
Now with the imco drives the 38 gets on plane way better but still not as quick as the 35.
The 35 is a great boat and would consider one again if they still made them. but it would be tough to go back to the older interior.
