UIM Withdraws Torrente’s License After Crash in China
It appears that American racer Shaun Torrente will miss the rest of the F1H2O season after his provisional super license was withdrawn by the Union Internationale Motonautique following his crash in China...

Good article.
Will be interested in seeing how this plays out & exactly what uim defines as " dangerous driving " I realize there was a crash, but nobody crashes a boat on purpose.....
I'm guessing this is more than one incident.
Sux for the team...lots of $ out.

At 21:31 Hard to tell. Hard call to make for Shaun. Hope it all works out.
The flagman had boats all over the place, at different speeds, banging into each other and scattered before the restart, then flags it green ????

I have been in his shoes trying to argue against a penalty that is only defined by opinion. this is always a problem and a tough spot when an official somewhere says you did this or that but may not have seen everything happening. we got fined once in Key West for cutting off another boat even when we had the line, were in the lead and the other boat refused to turn the pin. the official answer was "all you had to do was run a straight line and wait". of course that was in 6 foot seas and the goal of racing is to beat the other guy. I hope it all works out for him but when the official gets to set the parameters of the infraction at will it is a long battle.

Further to the poor restart point, the flagman made multiple attempts for a clean restart after the Torrente/Selio crash. I think he became very cautious after realizing his mistake.
From my pics, it certainly doesn't look like a malicious act. Simply tight racing that was just a little bit too tight.
