Jbs

Why would JBS delete his thread? If he would delete himself from offshore boat racing all together that would be great. Could somebody put the link to his "tv show" I think its great.

Because he is a classic ego maniac that wants nothing more than attention from the world by purchasing it. And when he is not the top dog, he takes his toys home and whines and badmouths everyone else that earned it by working hard

One thing in that vid that cracked me up was when they told their kids they were working. And then ...lets see " well maybe we can do something at the LOTO speed runs"

What a joke...they call this working? More like planning their next weekend getaway.

Must not have had the positive reception he hoped for

And what work was he doing? Using Flitz and rag on the boat. No need to fix parts when it's not being raced. Real race teams have drama and time constraints. Heck, even American Chopper is always being rushed to get a bike built.

His video trailer seemed more like Randy Quaid's family in National Lampoon's Vacation if Clark Griswold had given him the money.

I usually find that true success comes from bettering yourself, no matter what level you achieve. Success, and more importantly, respect, never comes from trashing or blaming those around you.

Reminds me, it's raining, and my 10 year-old needs to learn more in this regard today.

I don't know this guy from Adam but I don't like the whining about the Geico team having all the money. From where I sit this guy doesn't seem like he's doing too bad. Got a nice place and a bunch of toys, not to mention the race boat. Where does he get his money?

baditude 10-06-2012 03:37 PM

Trust fund that must be running out

"The first is that, even though he has plenty of money to support his racing thanks to an inheritance from his grandmother who was a founder of the Dow Jones Industrial Average."

Found this on another web page promoting JBS, was curious about your question and googled JBS Racing.

I just watched his video..... He says they can go out an kick miss gieco's.. Then says it is frustrating watching them out there with unlimited funds......... If you are able to kick the ass of a team that has unlimited funds, why is that frustrating? I have read his posts here on OSO, and now seeing him whine on that video.... Just seems to confirm what has been said about him in the past.... Quite whining!

Trust fund baby...good work if you can get it!

Somebody once said. "How do you small a small fortune in racing?........................................... ..........Start out with a large fortune"!

Only a fool races with his own money. This guy has a golden opportunity to go after sponsorship money. Heck, the first guys I'd go after would be Geico's competition: State Farm, Allstate, Progressive, etc. They all spend a ton of money advertising and why let Geico dominate the market?

Maybe he has and just doesn't have a clue how to go about it. If what people are saying is true, he's a d-bag, then no wonder he can't get sponsors. What he needs to do is hire a marketing guy to promote the team and get the $.

Just my $0.02.

HEDGEHOGER 10-06-2012 09:55 PM

Maybe if his wife didn't spend so much on poles they would have some racing money:drool1:

Greatguy66 10-06-2012 09:57 PM

Nice boat a lot of reality shows like that on TV tough sell ?But this guy is far from poor to race a boat like that without a big sponser?

Don't know the guy. Only know what I read here. Seems to be a lot of know it alls with negative feelings and are ready to jump on him first chance they get. Yes he has said things a professional would not but it's over and should be put to rest.
JMO..
I wouldn't mind having his resources though and I'm sure I'm not the only one...:evilb:

I met Jeff when he took the time to stop at a small time boat show we have on the chain o lakes (Northern IL). It was awesome that he made the effort just to stop down and promote the sport.

After the event, he stayed out and had a few drinks and just hung out with the regulars. I don't know about where the money comes from, or how he acts with other racers. To me he seemed like a really down to earth guy and we were glad that he stopped in.
