What's wrong with this boat?

I Talked to these guys over a year ago, maybe even two years ago and they were asking 50k. I thought it was a descent deal was I wrong?

chewymalone 10-16-2012 12:15 PM

16 years old... can't finance, flat bottom hull... doubt you'd ever see 80 MPH out of it, teal graphics, $7K for a decent trailer, market sucks

Are you having buyers remorse from all your problems?

Nate5.0 10-16-2012 12:19 PM

Looks clean and about right to me. I would put it at the $40k area if you didnt post this ad.

I have no regrets about what I purchased, I'm simply asking if I'm missing something about this boat because it's been on the market for so long.

You obviously have nothing better to do then ride my ass about what I do with my boat.

bigboat28 10-16-2012 03:59 PM

I does have two motors I would like to have.

BBCLiberator 10-16-2012 04:35 PM

LOL, so sensitive. I mean if it doesn't run good at least it looks spectacular! I have the exact opposite problem which I'm solving this winter...never got around to getting all the new vinyl installed, I'll finish the second 1/2 this winter.

I have no intention of riding your ass, welcome to boat storage :D

Does looking to be a decent deal...considering the HP500 Bulldogs...

Here's another '96 for comparison http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...40hp-101735989

And I wouldn't take either... :evilb:

cheech 10-16-2012 08:41 PM

Cockpit color is relaxing.:whistle::party-smiley-004:

RT930turbo 10-16-2012 08:48 PM

Are they really bulldogs? (540 tall decks) or just hp500's?

obnoxus 10-16-2012 09:15 PM

Plus a saltwater boat will knock it down

Captain YARRR 10-16-2012 09:58 PM

An amazing boat...with extremely unfortunate colors.

I don't think they are Bulldog engines from the pics. Just regular HP500's.

phragle 10-17-2012 03:06 AM

Sonny Crockett would kill for those colors.

Nothing wrong with a PQ. I have a 280SC PQ and LOVE IT! You can not beat the ride, but then again, I have a 9'2" beam, about 9.5k lbs loaded (twin 496's help add to that weight) so she can cut through the rough stuff really well for a 28ft boat. Agreed, you most likely can not get 80+MPH out of that 34, but I guarentee you she will be a smooth ride.

I don't remember anyone asking about your problems!

They're getting there, another reduction and they'll be in the ballpark.

CrownHawg 10-17-2012 10:58 AM

If ya didn't want opinions on the boat, why'd ya title the thread "What's WRONG with this boat?"??? Looks like a nice boat, good power, so so colors but looks clean. Maybe I'm wrong, but from your avatar, looks like you already bought the thing. Be happy, you got a boat many others would love!!

Different boat in his avatar. Similar colors though.

US1 Fountain 10-17-2012 11:22 AM

Nice boat. HP motors, K-planes, hyd steering. Buddy had a newer one, twin step with 454's, was a nice riding boat with tons of space with good headroom in cabin.

Can't say if they are 500's or 540's. Both look same. Can't see the WP/head spacing in pics, so could very be BD's?

CrownHawg 10-17-2012 11:24 AM

My bad, just went back and looked at the ad. Kinda high for that old of a boat, and being a salty.

My last comment wasnt referring to the pq. It was referring to the comment a member made about my current boat that I have. I was looking at that PQ before I purchased my current boat a Formula 311.

CrownHawg 10-18-2012 11:13 AM

I have heard nothing but good things about Powerquest boats. A buddy on another forum has a PQ 38 and loves it! Your Formula looks nice too. I would never knock another persons boat, if you're on the water, your doing better than the other 99%!!

BrettM 10-18-2012 11:31 AM

http://www.performanceboatcenter.com...sp?boat_id=575

I have an 2002 Checkmate I would sell at the price, maybe even a little cheaper!
