Aero marine
I called Aero Marine this morning tried to talk with a sales person the lady answering the phone Brook hangs up the phone. So I call back and ask why did you hang up the phone and she said if you don't have a name I can't help you and hangs the phone up again! I can not believe that this company has someone like that working for them!
|
If your looking for windscreen help forget about it,
|
That is strange. I talked with Carmen a few weeks ago for 10 minutes or so about my windscreens and they aren't even Aero-Marine's! She was real nice and very informative.
|
First I am sorry for your problem. I have to ask though, when you spoke with Brooke and received her name from her so you could tell her boss, did she ever ask you for your name by any chance?
Were you informed that "Sales" was busy and they needed your name and # in order to contact you back? How many times did you speak with Brooke? |
Hello Rik
I wanted to speak with her boss , but she kept hanging up the phone, and no she did not ask for my name. I run a manufacturing business like your self, I would never tolerate that type of behavior especially a potential customer. She was extremely rude! |
I run into this on rare occasions with other companies. I cannot for the life of me figure out the mentality of people who do this.
If someone from my company did this, they would have their exit papers waiting for them about a second after the receiver hit the cradle. I think we should all call Aero Marine, and ask for Sales.:evilb: Michael |
No need to call gentlemen, I am reading your posts and I understand that there was an issue. My assistant did inform me that you were on the phone the first time.
Unfortunately, I was finishing up a new NORDIC 28 SS windshield (it is beautiful). The delivery was this morning and yes, I am "sales" when it comes to custom windshields. Unfortunatley we received a number of people asking for sales - those whom are sales people trying to "reach" the boss, so we carefully try to screen the calls so I can speak with all of our marine customers. You are all very important and I try to speak with each and everyone of you. Please be understanding and know that we will ask you the following questions if I am not available to speak with you at that moment: what the call is pertaining to (boats/automotive etc.) the type of boat you have name and phone number I will get back to you as quickly as I can. Marine clients are a very custom applications and sometimes it involves quite a bit of redesign or configuration. I hope this helps and Rik, thank you for your assistance from Northern California. Thank you Tom for your kind words I really appreciate it. Mr. Baja 27 if you send me your name and phone number I can call you and answer your questions and listen to your experience, but with the situation being as it is I understand if you prefer to go elsewhere. Thank you, Carmen |

so how hard is it to tel them your name so they can help you? sounds like you might be your own worst enimy if you can piss off a receptionist to the pont she hangs up on you.
|
Great to have another player for windsheilds / windscreens but Opticar give us some customer service and tell us how in the world to get in touch with you. Nothing for a contact info. Not trying to be a smart azz.

While I'm not saying what happened to you was right but after seeing Carmen's response I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again. While I haven't had any personal dealings with Aero-Marine everything I've heard about them they are a very professional business. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time and it's how we correct them that matters in the end. Good Luck.... Jim Just my $0.02 |

JIM DARR.... Meet BUP I'll bet he knows Joe Gibbs personally... |
I'm lost about the posts here ( sorry ). Do not know Joe Gibbs nor Jim Darr but I have met Lake Speed Jr. twice who runs the Joe Gibbs oil program plus will be in his 3rd tech sem. at SEMA Show if that counts.
Also own 2 boat dealerships so we deal in all forms of windshields. Coming up on 23 years soon so hence the post on this thread from my end. Next the Rattler Jake I grew up in Gloversville and boated the same lake as yourself. Next I guess this was a slam - give me a break. |

Aero Marine and Carmen are first class all the way. If you had a problem with them it's a good chance you were out of line.
|
[but if you run a manufacturing business I'm sure you get inundated on a daily basis with people wanting to speak with the boss. Most of which are people trying to sell marketing or other services which have nothing to do with buying your products at least that seems to be the norm at our company.]
Hire a marketing person and this problem goes away, I agree most of the calls are BS but you may be missing out on something if you field all calls as bull. I've been helping business owners for over 15 years with marketing and the biggest mistake I see by owners is that they are always working IN their business just not ON THIER BUSINESS. |
Forgot to mention....
I've spoken with Aero Marine before and they ARE top notch. Carmen was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. It's disturbing that her company is associated with a thumbs down thresd but without proper public relations these situations arise even with good companies like Aero Marine. |
Its all Bushes fault
|
I don't really hear an apology in any of this.
We don't hang up on calls at my company, ever. Why would we take a chance to lose a customer, just to screen calls? 1) If caller ID says "Not Available" we let it go to voicemail. 2) If it is a telemarketer with caller ID, and it is pretty obvious, we let it go to voicemail. 3) If it is a telemarketer with a legitimate caller iD, then my admin takes a message, or may even forward it if it sounds helpful. If they don't want to leave a message, then we request they try back later. 4) If it is a customer or potential customer, we take the call, or my admin takes a message if "sales" is busy. I've never lost a sale with this method, and never hung up on anyone. Michael |
Michael 1 My thoughts' exactly. The first point of contact in the company is the sectary if he or she is rude, that reflex's on the company. She was extremely rude and hanged up the phone twice, and for the individuals that are flocking to their rescue, saying I caused this type of ill behavior apparently you must have the same etiquette. ENOUGH SAID ON THIS SUBJECT!
Customer beware |

If I call a company & get nothing but machines it frustrates me to no end, I will leave my name & # but I would rather talk to a human even if its just to leave a message. That just my opinion, Randy

If Carmen was truly interested she would have sent him a PM with an apology and her cell phone number, not some BS about call me if you want to. No dog in the fight, but this service is what drives companies out of business. Can't even imagine this activity. |
If I am asking for information about a product that you sell I see no reason to have to give my name. How do I know that they won't use my info to call me 10 times a day to get me to buy their product?

I am in the process of having new canopies built for my ZRC. Aero competed for and won my business. Carman has been a joy to deal with. Sometimes when I call the secretary says that Carman is detained and will call me back shortly. She always does. No problem.
I'm thinking that your in-ability to deal with Aero Marine is a result of your lacking social skills - not them. |

As for pming cell phone, my cell is private and for friends and business colleagues I deem worthy of having 24/7 access to me. I have a toll free business line and two other lines for business as well as established business hours. My private time is exactly that..private. |
