I've always loved wooden boats.

These guys are still building some sick stuff. Got the opportunity to see a few of their boats at desert storm a couple years ago. They were a tremendous crowd pleaser even with all the other high end new boats.

I got a friend that's rebuilding an original Chris Craft. CRAZY about of work. Stripped the thing all the way down to nearly nothing. I can't even explain the work put into it. Mind boggling.

Rob at Minncraft builds them from scratch, the one in the pic has a 383 with all new gauges and nav and such. top notch stuff for sure. Read his story, he was a cabinet maker that decided to build boats. he does lay fiberglass in them as well to counter some of the problems with wood boats :)

----Take a minute and Google "Mays Craft". If you have any love for wood you will be amazed at what you will see. There are several great wood builders but Mays Craft really is the cream of the crop. Just out of this world.......Bill S

If you're talking about wooden boats you have to go to Tahoe.

And don't forget to get a Wet Woody at Garwood's:

----Nauiti Kitty,,,You are referring to Mike Malik. He probably has set the record for the number of Mays Crafts owned at one time. I believe he is presently at 4 and I think he has another on order. In the past he has been kind enough when he had the time to show them both locally and at national ACBS shows, and it is always much appreciated. He also has plans for a boathouse to house them all on Harsens Island that closely resembles a pirate ship.......Bill S
