Just went outside not to long ago to check my boat tent. It is blowing like a beast out there. I am sure there will be some huge waves in St.Joe Benton Harbor tonight and tomorrow.

I was supposed to take a boat from Saugatuk to Holland, put it on the trailer and winterize it tomorrow. I'm thinking the trailer and I will come to the boat. I'll try to sneak some pics in the morning. Hopefully I won't get all the paint sandblasted of my truck.

Wind just blew both front doors open, wind coming out of North right now, very odd, never remember both doors opening, they open in different direction. You would think the wind would be out of east.

Drove up to T.C. from Detroit last night and thought the same about the wind direction. Liked to crapped my pants on the Zilwaukee bridge. Once home saw the weather map and the rotation of the storm.

Checked the bouy reports this morning, southern Lake Huron was reading 24 footers. Wish I could have seen them, was tempted to drive over to Harbor Beach or Ludington.

Not here in Cleveland on Lake Erie. Quite a few still in the water. Buoy readings measured 22 footers last night. Spent my entire life around this lake and never have I seen anything like I saw last night from the lake. Between 12am and 2am it's appearance rivaled any ocean. Was looking at three and four footers in the marinas.
30 on the bottom of one marina and seven in another at sun up.

went to the marblehead light house and to point of catawba island on lake erie on monday night where the miller ferry leaves to go to put in bay. At the light house on monday night i would have to say the waves coming in were every bit of 10 foot, and at the ferry launch i would say they were more in the area of 12-15 and we have the islands breaking them up not too far offshore.....i wish i would had gone a little more east to huron, lorain or cleveland heard reports or 18+ from ppl who have spent most their life on the water, ppl who regularly go out in 8 + just glad to not hear reports of ppl needing to rescued though i am sure there are some out there. Would love to hear any first hand reports of anyone out on the water.

I have some pics of the waves by the light house but by the time i got to catawba it was too dark for the pics to turn out but it sure was easy to see when there.

Props to the miller ferry line for leavign lot 2 open for ppl to park and have a safe place to watch

Official Coast Gaurd Report for Lake Michigan on the news just said the highest recorded swells on the lake were 21'. Short of the record by 2'. Rep said this was measured from a bouy in the middle of the lake.

To those in the NE and other effected area's, I've gone through several storms in Florida including Andrew. It sucks to lose everything but I can tell you that this to will pass and the entire country will be stronger for it. When disaster happens thats caused by man, you just want revenge and to hurt the bastards responsible in every way possible (9-11). But when disaster happenes thats an act of God, everyone pulls together and plows their way through it. End result; better prep, more stringent codes, better recovery plans, better mitigation.

I'm in construction and spent several years studying and dealing with the effects of these kinds of storms. If there is anything I can do to help any of my OSO brothers, please do not hesitate to PM me.

God bless you all and good luck!!
