"Classy" colour schemes

While the paint that most of the big offshore's wear is undeniably in your face eye-catching and appropriate it obviously isnt to everyones taste hence questionable reputations etc...

trouble is you dont see many sophisticated or "suave" looking schemes on big v's either. Obviously there is the odd solid dark blue/silver/black hull which looks nice but doesnt really pop out with its own panache and style. I would be interested to see what or if anyone has thought about this before

Your boat is prob my fav of all time. From the color to the power(and of course the marker) it is what I would label my "dream" boat. From the tinted window to the red pad it breaks it up just enough to really POP!

Always enjoy seeing it posted.

I think my Cig looks pretty darn good for a solid color.
Granted it looks different in person since then you can see the ghosted in cigarette and lipship logo

f_inscreenname 11-06-2012 02:56 PM

Dont look bad all white and made for an easy paint job.

Take a look at the blue hull Cafe Racer being talked about in the Cig section. Pure timeless class.

And by timeless class you mean it looks like every cruiser on the lake?

I like performance boats to look flashy and detailed, or one color with accents like the white one above. The solid stripe just doesn't do it for me

jetheadracer 11-06-2012 04:35 PM

I guess it looks like a cruiser until it starts up and blasts across the lake. I love the classic paint jobs, carry on...

88242LS 11-06-2012 04:42 PM

I don't have a pic handy but I'm sure someone does and I believe the owner is a member here, the red/white Cig at the show last year hands down, someone repost the pic so I can save it again

I appreciate most of the really nice paint work on the newer boats and for the most part, pictures don't do them justice. 99% of the time they look a lot better in person.

Sometimes it takes away from the lines of the boat though and thats what I really like the look of.. The classics are the boats that I fell in love with in the late 70's and I'm still partial to them.

It has to be 3d or look like it's moving ( motion). I think that's it.
I am debating changing the look of this boat. But i like how it looks now too. The pic here that kinda gives the impression the stripe looks like it's kicking up water if you look at it. Any thoughts?

One thing I've always loved about my boat is that it just LOOKS fast...I think the red does it. The red windscreen too.

Its simple and classic.

That Cafe Racer does not look like every Clorox bottle on the lake. But we can disagree.
