Hawk 600SC ?'s

What's the story behind these engines. My understanding is they are 502 ci magnum motors with B&M 250 blowers. Can someone give me the spec of that motor, like 4-bolt(?) mains, crank, rods, cam & valve train, what generation block and reliability. Someone told me they opened a Hawk 550 and found the block to be a 2-bolt(?). I am looking at a boat with twin Hawk 600's and I just need to know more about them.

Is this the same Hawk that was on 188th St. Did they sell the rights to the name Hawk or did they move.

Another resource to try is Gary Smith at Carolina Racing. He worked at Hawk several years back.

Hawk Power

I heard rumors of them reorganizing
financially etc. ???

And I recently spoke with them
at the numbers I listed.
So I have to believe that is
the original Hawk with a new
address.

I know two men who have had bad experiences with Hawk motors in the early 1990s.

Delays, lost parts, underperforming engines, short-lived engines, dropped valves, leaking intakes, spark scatter just to name a few of the problems.

One man had 454 mag carb motors (365hp) that Hawk did a blower upgrade to 500hp. Those motors never ran for more than 50 hours before suffering some sort of problem. And for the record, Hawk did the complete installation and setup.

The other had 502 mag carb motors (410hp) upgraded to 550hp. Those did run reliably for the 120 hours he owned them, but never produced the performance he was "guaranteed".

Hopefully, those problems are not representative of their current product.
