Considering purchasing a new 39 CC. I am concerned with the TG open narrow beam. But, I can't justify almost $100k more for the 39 top fish with 10' beam. Is there anyone who has ridden in both? If, so what have you noticed in the two? What is the ride difference and what kind of water were you in. I plan on boating only in the great lakes. I have sold my xrt and currently have my pursuit 310c for sale. I am looking for one boat that will serve my purpose well. I understand the big difference in the beam's but with this boat being 39' should I be real concerned? Does this boat ride the same as a TG?
I will use the boat for more family fun and cruising. I would like to do a little travel and sight seeing next year. I would use the boat 70-80% with island hopping and cruising and get me the go fast high as needed. Need a CC boat that hits close to 70. I love speed. I would only use this boat for limited perch fishing and occasional walleye fishing. I am looking to spend 260-280 and considering the nortech 340, sunsation 34cc, and the 39 TG open. I know the 39 is not in the same league that's why I am considering it. But, the other 2 have much more comfort options. Any help is appreicated! Thanks Carey Downs 731-689-4000 |

NICE! that was sweet boat! You still have not been out on it?
Alpha Destin was a blast. Looking forward to having the cig there along with a lot of other runs. Sea Ray is at Camden in Loto. |

Guys, Thanks for the replies so far! I have had many boats in my days. I am shopping very hard for the next one. I dont want to shop for another one in a couple of years. I was considering the great deal that pier57 has on a used but new 39 top gun open. Scott offered me a screaming deal. But, it just doesn't fit my needs. Also, with the narrow beam I am concerned with this boat being rocky when fishing and off balance easily when drifting or low speeds. I also dont have to do mid 70s. I only have about 5 months of boating season at lake erie. Half of that time is chilly or cold. Some protection is needed from the elements.
Would be great to have some kind of cabin arrangements other than a Toilet. I'm not real crazy about the SUV design either... YET! any additional help or direction would be great. I am looking for a family boat that goes mid 60s or better and can handle lake erie's snotty weather at times. Considering something between 34-38' Looking to spend between $200-250. I would consider used if its barely used less than 100 hours and a couple years old. After going to the recent shows it seems like dealers and manufactures are willing to deal. Just need to find the right fit. |
