Has anybody used their products? I have a 29 Fountain and I am looking at doing this because in my opinion I think this is the most accurate way to monitor my fuel level. Right now with my boat in storage, I have no idea if I have 5 gallons in my tank or 100 gallons in my tank because my gauge has never worked so I just keep adding. Any input is appreciated.

I track my fuel usage on GPS with a calculated average I developed over time against fuel put in tank. I also have flo scans on the boat and while both take about equal amounts of effort the GPS method seems to be a bit more accurate and actually gives me a bit of a buffer sometimes. Neither will give you an exact estimate of fuel in the tank but once you get use to tracking you can get pretty close. Bout the only think I use my scans for is finding my best/longest cruise speed if need be.

You may also want to look at getting a better higher quality sender in youR tank. There's some new ones out there that work pretty good. I get it though, drives me nuts not knowing exactly what is in there. :D

bought one for my previous 35-7. I can tell you they were very accurate! I once had to completly dry out my fuel tank. So I filled to the top, knew exactly what I had in terms of gallon, and when I filled up after that, same service station, same nozzle, what went in there was within under 1% difference with what the floscan indicated.

Could manage fuel burn / efficiency, and exact amount left in the tank... would definatly buy again !!!

I use Maretron fuel flow monitoring sensors, it is NMEA compatible and more accurate than the flo-scan products, and take up a lot less space. They also have excellent customer service and support, call over there and ask for Mark he can tell you everything you will need to get set up.

Flo San is an extremely accurate product. If you go to thehulltruth a lot of fisherman use it and rave about it. I have one and haven't yet got the sensors installed but will have soon. Flo scan also has an nmea compatible model.

Here's one. Materials better than others. How accurate once calibrated which is easy to do. Fill it up, burn it out, fill it up adjust dip switches.

I just installed two sensors in-line and connected it to my Lowrance GPS via the NMEA plugs. I am still figuring out how to use it in conjunction w/my GPS but love what I see so far. Accuracy is advertised @ 1%.
I've only run it once (last keys trip) and am still struggling w/making it read MPG's and GPH's which I know it does but is not covered in their manual.
IMO, it is the bomb though. On mine, you tell the GPS your tanks capacity, when you fill it and it will tell you fuel used (per motor), fuel left, range, economy etc.
I bought mine to aid it finding the sweet spot for efficiency at cruise i.e., props, rpm, trim angle, tabs etc.
The secondary and bonus benefit is the accuracy of it's fuel gauge compared to the one in the dash. I posted on another thread about my struggles w/trusting what the fuel gauge said until understanding why I was seeing what I was.
Bottom of my tank is a mirror image of the vee in the bottom (as are most vee bottom boats) so the bottom 1/2 of the tank has maybe 1/3 or less capacity than the top 1/2 (and why we can go twice as far on the 1st 1/2 tank than on the 2nd and bottom 1/2) which is square. Add to this the angle the boat is sitting at (fuel at rear of tank where sender is) and now we know why the gauge says 3/4 when you know it's on fumes.
Here's what we saw in the Keys:
We ran from Gilberts in Key Largo to Islamorada and back (didn't think to check mileage but guessing 60 - 70 round trip) @ speeds between 45 and 65 and burned a total of 66 gallons out of my 89 gallon tank.
That means we had 23 gls left in the tank even though the gauge in the dash said nearly 3/4! Also, that's a new gauge w/one of the new senders w/the float that rises/drops straight instead of the OEM style on the arm.
Another tid bit of info you can pick up is balk park power output required per speed. If you go by the average of 1 GPH per 10 HP's (as most do) you can guesstimate power required at a particular speed. As in, 20 GPH @ 50 MPH = 200 HP's required to maintain that speed.
Should be fun once I figure out what I'm doing.
You need to be careful while doing research though as several internet sources said my model of GPS (including dealers) wasn't capable of doing any of above.

Twin o/b sonic if you have flo scan call them. They are extremely helpful and will explain to you what to do.

Has Flo Scan changed anything in the last few years? Mine are about ten years old and never seemed to work that well.

I have the Garmin fuel senders on my old wellcraft fish boat. Interfaced thru NEma 2000 to the mfd. worked great.
