265 baja vs 26 nova II

I found a 26 baja with twin small blocks in it that I can get for a good price.I have a few questions.

1. how would it take rough water compared to the nova hull, the nova is alot taller in front to mid hull. we boat mostly on winnebago. with the nova hull we can run55-60mph in 3-5' fairly smooth only having to pull out when you catch a roller. (for you offshore guys the wave spacing is very tight)

2. is the baja hull faster than the nova hull?

3.will it work well with a set of arneson #6s and 450-500 hp small blocks. will it stay flat or get squirrely?

4. what problems are these boats known to have.

the cuddy is alot shorter in height but alot longer in the baja vs the nova. baja weighs 4700,nova 5600. both measure 26.5 and have a 8' beam.

my biggest concern is with the surface drives and more power that it might be a hand full and not like the rougher water.:daz:

any input would be great thanks.

To be honest with you I have no idea, but I really miss boating on lake Winnebago and the fox river. Fremont use to have the best bar with nice dock space named the bridge bar. Enjoy the lake and surrounding area. I miss the space and places to go.

I could not see spending all that time and money to go from a nova 26 to Baja 265, I would want to make a more significant improvement

It's still there. That's my favorite run. We do it at least every other time on the lake. We load at blackwolf just north of fondy on the Westside of the lake, usually stop at Sweetwater performance and meet up with friends then make a run to harbor bar on the east shore before the run up to the bridge. It's about 3.5 hours of run time at 45mph and lots of fun. The bad part is they have so many no wane zones on the weekend and holidays. we can make it in 2.5 during the week and spend a $100 less in fuel! Pulling the boats up every 200 yards sucks until you get into the river and run the snake loads of fun then!!
