Very cool! I remember the quad Turbo motor he had in the Camaro years ago, made insane HP, but, I never seen it make a full pass, gonna be pretty hard to hook up 4400HP in a "regular" chassis car, killer looking motor though!!

I've always wondered why 5" bore spacing big blocks haven't made a bigger impact in the offshore world. A naturally aspirated motor making 2000hp, for $110k seems pretty reasonable to me. I'm sure maintenance wouldn't be overly excessive either, and with no belts to break or excess heat created, reliability has to be solid as well.

surprised it only has 94mm turbos consider this monster he consulted on had 106mm?

I still can't believe there are not more big turbo motors in boats. They got real popular in drag racing fast. especially outlaw, Drag radial. Its coming I know, slower than one would think.

For 1/2 the price I think THIS would be a killer motor, it makes OVER 1200HP on pump gas with no turbos or blower! You can even get it with A/C and power steering. He makes an "endurance" version that's made for cross country racing as well!

I spoke to Moran years ago at an IHRA when I was working for Al Billes, he told me the smaller turbos spoiled up quicker, no idea what difference it would make in a 4400HP car, you would need to bleed off a big chunk of boost just to get off the starting line anyway.

I think turbos are LONG overdue in marine applications, they make great power, the technology has really grown a lot in the last decade, maybe Mercs new 1350's will open people's eyes to the potential of turbos?

Traditionally heat was the problem.....drag cars run for 6 or 7 seconds in anger?.....running for 2 or 3hrs is a whole different ballgame.

With an endless supply of water to cool the motor and turbo's it shouldn't be too hard to make a big inch turbo motor "live" in a marine environment. The new Mercs seem to work pretty well using twin turbo's.

i wish he could make it a marine engine,,we would call it #6 killer..lol
