I would prefer a 27 as I took a few beatings in the 22 Baja Force I had coming back from the Sassasfras towards Turkey point when the wind was blowing. But a decent 27 is out of my price range unless I go way old. Taking my time but I want the boat in the driveway by April at the latest. I also want something relaible in case we run to Watermans in Rock Hall or all the way to Red Eye dock bar in Kent Island.

Wait for the funds to buy the boat you NEED for the water conditions you'll be boating in. Why take the chance of bad things happening? bigger water needs bigger boat. You'll ned the length more than the deep hull for rough water which as explained can come up on you FAST. Better chance of getting swamped because you can't maintain enough speed to stay ahead of rough trailing seas and don't have the length to span some of the chop. It only takes seconds for that 20' to fall between a couple waves and go under. Safety first. She'll never go boating again if you splash her in the drink, providing you all survive. Dramatic I know but it happens all the time. besides what good is that 20'er sitting in the drive because it's too small to take out in a little wind?

Since you are on a fixed budget, you might want to check out some boat auctions. You may be able to pick up a repo boat for a steal. I've never purchased one from a auction, but I've looked into them. Others on here may chime in on this with recommendations and different auction sites. Just a thought.

95 Sunsation Aggressor in IL asking 13k. It will run pretty good in ****ty water. Good first performance boat.

13K sounds awfully cheap for a Sunsation, I wish it was closer to look at, makes me nervous unless it's a dealer to send money that far away and have it shipped in, pic's can be deceiving, have had people I knew get burnt on cars.

I have a 24' AT w/ twins. I really love it! I would recommend searching around for twins! :)

They're not very easy to find. The closest one that comes to mind is a 24 Sonic, maybe a 27' Carrera.

That is the beauty of OSO. You could find a member or two that would be happy to take a look for you.

Really prefer a single engine, BBC andd Bravo drive although I have heard Volvo makes a tough outdrive. Two screws, twice screwed is the old saying and I have a budget to maintain, group I will be running with have 22 Pachanga, 252 Formula SS, (2)260 Chaparral's and a Baja 240 sport. Fastest one is the 240 Baja with 454 Mag, both Chaparral's have 496's but run mid to high 50's, same as the Formula which has a 454 Mag. Pachanga is a small block.

I'd take 13k for my 24 outlaw. There are plenty of members local to me, i'm sure that someone would check it out for you. You can see lots of detail, including it's imperfections in these pics though.
