Picture of my new dog

This is Lucky. Thanks Too Old for helping me to get this incorporated into a thread.
Lucky is 13 weeks old and I'm fostering her for Guide Dog Foundation. She will be a seeing eye dog for a blind person. I will have her for a year and then she'll be trained for 6 months before being paired with a blind person for 25 days of round-the-clock training. |
Miller,
I hope she is feeling better! Absolutely ADORABLE! Shane:cool: |
She's definetly doing better today and right now, she's trying to figure out how to get the peanut butter out of one of her treats. But, everytime she gets a little of the stuff, she runs for the water bowl. It's pretty funny to watch her struggle with the Jif. The trainers told me that peanut butter is a good treat to use and that it will keep her occupied for hours. They seem to be right. I'll try to get a picture of it... :D

She's ADORABLE! Way to go!

By the way, if anyone knows someone who could either use a seeing eye dog, or who would like to raise one, the organization is called the Guide Dog Foundation and they can be reached at 1-800-5-GUIDES.

Man, I do not know if I could keep a dog for a year & then give it up. My wife would be a basket case for months after our time with dog was up.
