NY Boat show review?
 

anyone been to the show this year ? how is the performance turn out? is it worth going or is it better to go to the pub and watch football?

Just got back from it! As far as performance, really the only boat there was the Formula 353 Stiletto with twin 565's in it. BEAUTIFUL boat! Other than that, the overall boat turnout was pretty disappointing....MUCH smaller than last year.

I stopped going once Donzi, Fountain etc stopped bringing in the go-fasts.....

Boston is the same way.

I just back for the NY show and it was VERY busy.... Maybe because it was only in half of the upstairs of the Javits center.... It seemed really crowded and lots of activity. I thought it was a good show...

I remember a show probably 10 years ago all of the go fast were there in force Cig,donzi,fountain,formula,kryptonite,superboat,ba ja

then from there on it just seem to get smaller every year well now with the economy in the tank...

we have a local marina( i am about 40 miles northwest of the city) that swears by the show they sell a ton down there but they are toons and deck boats mostly.

It always seemed like a nice mid winter break to go down there then it got played out. we did go to the atlantic city show for a few years as a valentines get away . that show always seemed to have a lot more performance boats than NY . we skipped that show too the last couple of years.

I was there yesterday. Only go fast was the 353 fastech. But I felt it was a better show than last year. Lots of new models in the sporty runabout world. Some new cruisers too. Definitely not quite as crazy as last yr. Always a good cold weather boat fix!

Looks like Miss Geico was at the show or was that an old pic. To me Miss Geico would be the show stopper and catch everyone's attention. Great promotion for Geico and Offshore Powerboat racing.

Yep, Miss Geico was there. I know they've been there for the past 3 years. This year, the booth was PACKED because they had a $200 Gas Card giveaway going on.
