Re: Favorite V-bottom Boat Brand?
There is really only one #1..
Cigarette! None have stood the test of time like Cig.
And none have kept the level of quality at it's highest.
Pure top speed is one thing, but building the whole package is another. Cig is the whole package.
1-Cigarette
2-Pantera
3-OL
4-Nortech
5-Magnum
6-Fountain
The new Nortech 75 will be a sight...

Re: Favorite V-bottom Boat Brand?
I was at a loss for words at the amount of flaws this year especially on the hi-end boats. I thought ...HUSTLER ... did the best job this year in Miami. Cigarette was a very close second, and everyone knows that I don't care for them cause of the problems I had with my single step Top Gun, but I call it like it is. Hustler had by far the least amount of flaws, compared to the other three big heavy hitters, Cig, OL and Nortech. The paint jobs were at 95%, stitching on seats and carpet cut on steps were perfectly sewn. Fabrics were cut and run all the way down without looking like they had to be stretched and then covered up with a piece of metal/molding like I saw on 2 of the boats. Carpet was run along side of fabrics and cut perfectly without nylon backing shown, and pieced together (the seam was obvious). Rigging was right up there and all at fair price, compared to some, for goods received. What I particularly liked the best was an ingenious throttle set up on the 50' Yanmar/Arneson in water boat. The ability to use 1 throttle vs three and all be precisely on. The article in PR America was also excellent. Just my take on it, Hustler should be added to your list, Thanks Jeff

Jeff, how much of what you saw would you chalk up to builders trying to make it to Miami regardless of whether or not the boat was ready to go there? That can turn out to be a two edge sword if it backfires on them. But many of those flaws will be worked out when they get back home.
I remember thinking that last year when I was on the new 39 NorTech. I think the boat turned out much nicer than I thought it showed last year.
Hope you guys had a great time. I'll call to follow up with you sometime soon.

2 of the 4 builders said no problem getting reddy for the show, even made it early, same few flaws as last year and didnt get fixed this year, some what of a pattern.

I agree, much better showing, more impressed with it over the 4300.
