When I was building boats in Houston as a kid they had their monsoon season and a week later all the flooded cars would turn up for sale. This was early '80's too so before the government was protecting us :helmet:

This was before all of the laws dictating full disclosure on salvage vehicles and they would all surface a week after the latest flood. I almost bought one until I saw the water line around the interior.
Kind of, "when it sounds to good to be true...".

Was also back when it was legal to drink and drive in Texas :cartman: I got pulled over one time on my way to Ohio at 2:00 A.M. doing 90 in a 70 zone in the middle of no where w/a half empty case of beer beside me and empties all over the passenger floor. Cop asked where I was going and I told him. Told me to slow down or I'd never make it.
Walked away w/o saying a word about the empties, or my breath :whistle:

Engines were under water for FIVE weeks.:(

Insurance co's let a lot of boats just rot. Crime to leave those motors wet like that. A lot of the boats were left down for extended periods, you can see the scum lines on the hulls. They also weren't winterized after. So beware of cracked blocks in some. Only buy if you view them. Unreal what I see in person at auctions vs what was in the photos. They "don't see" a lot of things and hide behind the "sorry we don't have that information".
