Damn that hurts, I`m surprise they don`t install lojack or some sort of tracking devices on these boats. Will the company be responsible or his insurance or both? I`m on the I-75 around Gainesville area I will be on the look out hope they catch them.

Bobthebuilder 01-08-2013 08:26 PM

Sorry to hear this. Just glad they passed on Team PREDATOR in favor of the CC. It was at the plant sitting on the trailer as well.

Bob

boatfreak 01-08-2013 08:32 PM

This just makes me sick. That has to be the best looking CC they've built.

No worries Bob, I doubt they had enough truck to get your little raft out of there.

BBB725 01-08-2013 09:03 PM

Terry was this boat in the Keys last week?

bill63 01-09-2013 06:17 AM

It was Terry's boat that he sold last year.

drpete3 01-09-2013 07:36 AM

What bullchit! Armed guards?? :evilb: How is it that easy to walk in and tow a boat away..?

LAriverratt 01-09-2013 09:30 AM

they knew there were camera's...I'd say its a very good chance that someone close to the goings on around Nor-tech and/or who knows the owner is involved...I'm nots saying either of these two are involved, just that it's someone close to them.

that's what i was thinking. even moving it at night how could someone miss it???? unless it gets put on an inclosed trailer or is out to sea by now?!?

wananewboat 01-09-2013 03:23 PM

That does make you sick, the balls people have these days. Some type of tracking devise would be nice.

Bob, they don't want your boat, it's already been to Cuba:evilb:

speicher lane 01-09-2013 03:55 PM

With the number of boats that were going missing with the 300's only to be found washed ashore without power- I kinda surprised custom builders are not offering GPS tracking for a matter of course for the boats and the power. New options for 2013????

Some of the small compact units that I have seen would appear to be just more of the electronic management controls - than again today's thieves are usually in the know.......

TxHawk 01-09-2013 05:41 PM

Really hate to go there but....

Are Texoma based Nor Tech's just bad luck?

searaycer 01-09-2013 07:44 PM

Terry. they dont have footage at the toll booths? My ass... when you run through with no Sunpass it sends you a ticket with your plate on it. If it went east over the alley there is footage they just need to get off their ass and watch it for about 4 hours after it got stolen.

Wow :poopoo:

Donzi ZX 01-09-2013 08:10 PM

I'm kinda surprised it sounds like Nor-Tech doesn't have their own security cams, and have to rely on their neighbors.

outlawten5 01-09-2013 10:14 PM

You can get to the east coast by running state rd 80 east. No tolls.

boating37 01-09-2013 11:10 PM

When I had my Concept with trips, my insurance made me get GPS tracking device, and
I used Galtrac. I looked to see where my boat was every morning!

lastcall02 01-10-2013 05:38 AM

The police need to visit every gas station within a 100 mile radius of the Nortec facility. If they are going to use the boat to make a run to Cuba or Mexico, they would have to fill up first I would suspect. Maybe they can get a better camera shot of the aholes that stole the truck/boat. Although I guess it will not matter if they are already on the boat and in Mexico/Cuba. The truck and trailer will probably turn up within the next few days.

We do but they parked around the building next door and walked right by their cameras.
They captured the best images.

When we suggested that to the cops they told us they don't record. It may be that it just snaps a photo if they blow the toll.

What kind of truck is it? If GM I'd call and pay the on star services and then have them locate it.

rchevelle71 01-10-2013 11:48 AM

Chances are the truck was stolen also.

It was nor tech's truck and was attached to the boat when it was stolen.

Hello Onstar? I need the location of every black pickup in Florida right now!

Onstar works off the VIN, didn't quite see that in the video....:evilb:

Keytime 01-10-2013 06:45 PM

Thieves are azzhats. I've been ripped off 4 times since Memorial Day Weekend of last year and I firmly believe that individual owners need to step up and take charge of the security of their possessions. My skis were stolen from storage last year and the security cameras gave me a great home movie of my sh*t being stolen. IMO, rarely is video footage going to lead to an arrest or be much of a deterrent. Owners need to band together to work on better solutions to prevent this chit.

Off my soapbox.

Yep, it sucks pretty bad nowadays. I (my pool construction business) has been tagged 6+ times this year, 2 B&E's into the shop for hand tools and multiple thefts of flagstone rock slabs, precast concrete fireplace kits, and travertine coping bricks and pavers from product outdoors. Purchasing TL quantities direct is great if you get to place the product into service, and sucks bigtime if you've been hit. I'd of been better served paying distribution pricing and taking lesser return on the projects. We have to chain our bigger tools indoors together off of the pallet racks.
Do you really think the Sheriffs dept gave a $hit about the video, "Can you make out the license plate number?" is the first and only question. They could have cared less about the make/model of the pickup and general description of the perps.
We've been at our place for 11 yrs and have been hit more since Aug 09 in the last 3 1/2 yrs than we were for the first 7 1/2 yrs here and 6 yrs at my old shop. Alarm monitoring and cameras are no longer good deterrents.
It's, unfortunately, a sign of the times. I think our judicial system has everything to do with it too. On the only solved case I receive 50 monthly restitution from a dirtbag who hit me much harder in one millisecond than I could ever hit him back. The restitution for my deductible and the loss of "at purchase cost" replacement value for what the Ins Co didn't pay is spread out over a 10yr probated sentence, I paid in full for the replacements on the spot at newer higher prices than initially purchasing.
When your not afraid of justice your not afraid of anything except a property owner and his friend Mr. Smith and Wesson. They know for fact that they'll get off easy on a non aggravated offense if caught by the cops, just ask Chubby.
You can't stay up all night with guns there to protect you stuff and work all day tomorrow.
It makes me wonder "What happened to the good old State of Texas protecting us???"

My heart breaks for both Terry and his customer, I'd feel absolutely terrible if someone stole my customers property from my shop no matter how well I or he was insured.
THIEVES PHUCKIN SUCK

Now I'll get off of my soapbox too, LOL!!!

See ya,
Kelly
