HHO generator on boats.

Have been doing lots of research on HHO generators. If you don't know what it is its using hydrogen gas to run motors. It's injected into the intake. Have found kits for boats and yachts. They are calming 30-40% fuel gain and ups the HP. Anyone on here try it or have thought about it ? They can be simply made at home.

Snake oil!

For one to make enough to see those numbers...even half would weigh more than another big block fully dressed after you fill the tank with water. Plus, now you have a another contributor to electrolysis.

Think "Hindenburg".

don,t mess around with hydrogen..... it has an invisible flame its a ***** to store and handle creates a lot of water vapor in the engine tinkering with an old mower engine is the way to use it not in a highly flammable boat

Producing H is relatively easy, converting an internal combustion engine to use H as a supplemental or even primary fuel source is also pretty basic, in the grand scheme. However, the path from the source to storage, then to use is very complicated and dangerous. Remember the Space Shuttle Challenger.
I don't know off hand, what the net gain of energy using an on board power source to produce H would be, but I would like to find out.

One question. Where are going to get all this hydrogen? That little electrolysis unit isn't going to do anything. I use to make hydrogen this way when I was a kid, and I had the advantage of 110 volt house power. Even then, not much was made. Another friend at the time did the same thing, and the entire setup blew up in his garage during the middle of the night. I would stick with gasoline, or better yet, diesel.
