Very nice, any one of those would be fine for me! :lolhit:

This picture could have even been better if Dennis' 36 White Skater and Erik's 44 MTI were in it but they were up the cove when this picture was taken. Jim Lee's Freedom was also not at the lake that weekend.

Mac 01-14-2013 11:01 AM

OH THE GOOD OLD DAYS!! Pretty much history now

WARPARTY36 01-14-2013 01:50 PM

That was a fun weekend:evilb:

Jay did mention that there we a couple of cats missing due to other commitments, breakdowns and such that weekend. Still, what a nice "little" grouping.

E Dock DD 01-14-2013 04:35 PM

As Bubba said it was quite a weekend that started on Thursday and lasted until Sunday afternoon. What was really funny was nobody wanted to take their boat out the weekend before because they were scared they would break and not be fixed in time to be in the photos and magazine.

Go-fast boat magazine photos shoots are well known for bringing out mechanical gremlins. Worse still? Boat tests. I've endured boat-testing days where half of an eight-boat test fleet didn't make it back on its own power.

In all serious, it sounds like that was one hell of a weekend.

So, how long did that "phase" last? What percentage still have cats?

Non-stop, dude. I ain't lyin. :cartman:

Jim Lee loaned us the use of his lake house for the duration.
It's maybe a hundred yards from Cherokee.
(thanks again, Jimmy!)

The bar at Cherokee had an IT guy come in and we ran a slideshow off my laptop to all the screens in the bar at night. The place was packed- 100% boaters.

That was the closest I've ever felt like a rock star. :thankyouthankyou:
Awesome. A lot of it had to do with the fact that I already knew a lot of the E-Dock peeps from interaction here and at some of the runs.

No awkward 'getting to know you' phase, just straight to the bar. :lolhit:

You guys are professionals, with years of practice to hone your skills.
:party-smiley-004:

The memories will remain.
This was the very last shot of the weekend,
Monday morning I had packed the truck for the ride back to Tulsa.
Decided to unpack a camera and walk down to the dock one last time.

Lasted for a couple yrs and alot of Poker Runs around the country. Never be able to reproduce those yrs.
Everyone is still at the pond and partying, just some are on big boats now.
Jim Lee still has Freedom at the lake some
Dennis of course has the 388 with Turbo motors.
Farley and Spine Tingler are still here.
Hammertime is still here, Just racing MX more than boating.
And L.V. has a new 36 skater on the pond.
Lots of new Cigs around also, So we're still having a Blast and still a small show on the big weekends when everyone is here.:ernaehrung004:

I found mine on another photog's site. That is why I wondered. :angry-smiley-038:

I think I've seen your shot where you can clearly see Leslie's smile as they are flying by about 8-10' up and level.

There was a local photographer in the helo that day, that's one of her shots.

Did anyone ever get a picture of all the cats in it? I know we rafted most of them up off the south end of the dock one day. Does anyone have that picture?

Jay, you may have to try to put together something with all the cats in it.

That was on Aug 22, 2009; they were just un-tying and heading out to a photo shoot (not the magazine one, this is later). I was there to look at Slim Shady; I ended up taking it to California.

FREEDOM US1 01-21-2013 10:18 PM

Freedom US1 is doing better then ever!! Totally refurbished and running on pump gas for the first time ever. Keeping it a TNT in Miami. Went to Gilberts Sunday for lunch and then south through Key Largo and back to Miami. No need for a fuel truck to follow it around anymore. Really makes the boat usable as a fun pleasure boat!! :) Simple concept but new to me. Put it in the water Thursday and out today, Monday. Runs better then I thought it would!!

That's awesome Jim. It's hard to imagine that boat getting any better, but it sounds like you've done it.

Are you sure you still want to sell her Jim? She looked new in KW with all the work you have done to her. Screw dragging around all that race gas. I'm glad your enjoying her.

I don't have it listed anywhere but it's available if someone wants to buy it. For sure better then ever!! At TNT if anybody wants to look at it. 5 other boats leaves me plenty of boating options if Freedom moves on to a great new owner!!

hammer01 01-23-2013 11:14 PM

Boat looks great as always Jim, curious how much hp was reduced and what did it translate to performance wise. I'm sure that the convenience factor and such truly make boating that much more enjoyable. Congrats again. Apologize if I hijacked thread.

Full fuel 6 people and moves right along! No top speed test but has lots of power, I think its around 1100 HP now. Eric with Boyd my engine builder went with me last week and said everything looked great. Plugs , egt ,and things like that.

Options are a good thing. :lolhit:
Saw the sign taped on her in Key West and thought it was a joke. :eekdrop:

See you in Miami, Jimmy-
I'll be there for 3 days this year. :drink:
