My good friend and next doorneighbor took on the "real"Hummer several years ago and got the whole state. He became the southeast's largest Hummer dealer when most dealers wouldn't get near such a weird vehicle. He took 30 deposits on the H2 and now GM tells him he can't buy them because he's not a Cadillac dealer and must refund all deposits. The lawyers are now circling. Word on the street is he may not get the H2 but will wind up with enough money that he won't care.I initially planned on buying one but after such shoddy treatment of a good dealer I'm going to pass.

I saw one on the road here last week for the first time, and I still like the looks.
I was planning on buying one, until I heard about the Tahoe chassis. After that piece of news, I decided on keeping the Excursion, which, incidentally, replaced a Tahoe. (My Tahoe was a royal POS.) I think I have sworn off GM for life now, although I said that before the Tahoe too.

I personally don't have a problem with GM, heck I have a Yukon, and a Pontiac. I never did quite understand the whole H2 thing though. After spending many years in the South Bend, IN area where the Hummers are built (both the real ones and the H2's) I just don't quite get why someone would want to spend that kind of money on a Tahoe imitation:confused: IMHO of course...

H2

New H2,

This is built on the shortened Tahoe but the frame is newer design with hydromformed rails and very stiff. It does not have a dinky 1/2 ton axle, but a 3/4 ton axle in the rear. I know just looked at one next door; dealership. Also has the 6 liter motor and this motor is stout! Also has the greatest seats built by the best; Lear Corp. largest automotive interior supplier (where I work). They cannot keep them in stock, and in fact are backordered.

Organdonor- picture was taken at the GM design center courtyard I think- I recognize it.

You should be able to pull a 10,000 lb. boat no problem.

Wannabe, I think you're right on the pic. The GM tech center, specifically near the Design Center has all those buildings with the funny colored bricks (ie. yellow, blue, red). That area looks like a 70's college dorm area and is sort of cheesey. Anyway, the red bricks in the background are a dead giveaway. Ranman
