Newbie (kind of)

Just browsing the posts not sure if I'm "supposed" to be hear. You guys have some high dollar/ high speed boats!

Just bought my 3rd boat. 1991 Celebrity 220. 454 bravo 1. My first mercruiser. Living in NC and this is going to be a lake boat only.

Boat is mint!! Trailer is a 1990 and is in such great shape. Have the original manuals, even the original bill of sale ($23k in 91). Was garage kept it's whole life except for the past few months being for sale. Couldn't be happier! All for 7k. Have a friend with a 24' eliminator and looked at similar boats, but with a wife and kids to keep happy had to compromise. Did that with my last car. Wanted another vette (yes we can have 2 if we want!), but sided with the family and bought a 400hp Jaguar STR. my 4 door vette I guess.

Starter/alt/drive oil/impeller/batt is all new, but is there anything I need to increase reliability? What would I be at for speed? Estimates. Boat supposedly weighs 3950#. Didn't take out for a spin b/c of weather and well the price and condition spoke for itself.

Engine looks brand new. Only 300 hours, but looking online at pictures of drives it doesn't look like a normal bravo 1. The lower is much longer and pointed is this an add on? or a different drive.

Not sure if the photos up loaded, but at the moment this is all I have stopping my my parents on my way home. Maybe the drive pic will show up.

I see the pics just had links, is there a way to post in the thread?

WELCOME ABOARD,you don,t have to have a big offshore boat to be on this site,it is about boating in general.the picture you put up is a little dark, but the outdrive looks like a standard bravo1.it appears as you got a nice boat for the money, enjoy it,as long as you keep up with general maintainance, you will get many hours of boating.

This website is one of the best, if not the best power boating resource out there.

Oh and you should have got a cts-v if you wanted a 4 door vette :lolhit:

CTS-V, beautiful car, little angular, but I'm a sucker for a Jag anyways. Just the fit/finish and the woodgrain interior! Plus has a nice supercharger whine.

STR No longer in production so I could buy used (so lot less than a new caddy). In my house new major purchases have to be an american company (if possible). Got the misses a new Volt 3 months ago. So thanks to all you taxpayers to help us out on that (or everyone's grandchildren I guess).

We wear new balance b/c Made in the USA!

Nice boat, The exhaust looks interesting would like to see under the hatch if you can. Welcome, Randy

Will get some more pics in the next few days. I won't be home before dark til Wed. Not sure if the exhaust came this way or was added. Had the rubber flappers, but someone wanted them more than me I guess.

Welcome to OSO and yes there are many people on here with the big bucks and big boats but there are many on here with little bucks and little boats as well, but the one thing we all have in common is our love of performance boating.
