I'm just wondering if he stuffed the whole aft of the boat and shut the motors down. Reentry regardless was not as planned especially the steering wheel and bolsters in the scrotum!!!

I'm surprised no one mentioned the "Cigar Boat" title....

I really wonder what was going on here....was that guy out looking for trouble or did he just get caught in a bad situation and was forced to make a decision to hit the waves head on? Maybe he could have outrun the breakers, but I don't know what was going on out of frame... I also think he had no choice but to give it some gas to insure that he was going to make it over that second wave, which is why he ended up launching it. In any event, it looks like at least one of the passengers was lucky to have stayed in the boat (read: landed in boat).

It looked to me like he was searching for the best way out. The second wave would be tricky, to much gas and well we know what happens not enough and i think it could have rolled.

Think that was George Clooney at the helm.

wonder how shallow the water was at the bottom of the swell. he was obviously getting pushed closer and closer to shore. maybe he had no choice but to head to deeper water. i've seen several people encounter the shallow trough issue... esp. in the sarasota passes (new and old pass) cuts.

Update: my friend says "That Donzi has a huge crack in it. cracked from waterline to inside interior".

I'm not exactly sure what that means, but they apparently made it back to the marina without sinking, at least.

He should have talked to the guy in the 41 Apache in the video in Miami going over the rollers to see how it's done. He went way to far inside, it would of made a great video if he had a Gopro.
