'Foul,

If that OE cat is called "Crackin' Up" and was up at Hardy last year------well, I think it is more like a 30-32 footer vs. 38' as you have stated. I think the largest boat that was up there last year was Tinkerboater's 34' Wellcraft. Although I have heard of 38's and 42's up there on several occasions.

I will most likely be up there this year again. (32' Active Thunder)

32....38.....Both make my boat look miniscule!!!!! Either way, I'm sure you could launch a big Fountain there.

Not sure about last year but there has been a Black Thunder there for a couple years and he always launched at Brower. The party is held the weekend AFTER labor day which helps keep the other traffic down. Hope to see lots of new boats this year.

Default So when is it taking place this year?

We should have a pretty good group from NW Indiana. Most of us have 20 to 25 foot boats. Will we be able to get WOT or will all of the 30 + footers make it a little to choppy? I'm sure Eliminator 219 will let a few of us ride with him if it is to rough for us. How is the river as far as unmarked shallow prop killer spots? I am always nervous about banging my Spinelli.

From the ramp go to the left and you're fine. To the right you better follow Tinkerboater!!!! He know's the way!

As for the river, it opens up quite a bit, perhaps a mile across at it's widest point. I'm running a 24 Baja and ran wide open quite a bit last year. No problem. It's also really deep once youg et to the wider areas. Over 100 feet in places. It's really a reseviour backed up behind the damn. Good boating there.

Just stay to the high bank up river and you shouldn't have any problems. Up river there is always good racing room. I have been going there for 24 years. I can run that river at night . Down by the dam on the west ( right ) side facing the dam about 1/2 mile up their is a sand bar that comes out into the river about 1/4 mile so watch for it-- and watching your depth guage won't work because it goes from 90 ft to 2 ft in about 50 ft.

I know it gets pretty wide from Brower Park as you're going DOWN river. I went up river from Brower Park as well but only went about a 1/2 mile or so because I didn't know the river well and would turn around right where I saw it "Y" off in 2 different directions. If it widens after that point I could'nt see it much beyond that "Y". I wasn't with any one and no one was ahead of me who I could follow that knows the river well at the time. The launching area is about 25-35 feet deep and I mean it gets DEEP IN A HURRY!
