I've seen that set up on many race cats. What is it's primary function on this boat as well as on a race boat? Tunnel extension providing more stern lift?

Mine is custom & a true tab for the purpose of smoothing out the mid range hop. The range of motion is way beyond 2" since it's hinged but I probably don't go much past 4" down.

I don't know you but you must be a hell of carpenter! Like your style...beautiful piece of machinery you own there.

I hope to someday own something that nice myself.
