Miami to Bimini

I was watching some youtube videos last night of folks doing this on WaveRunners and a jet boat.......good stuff. Check it out. I need to get a boat out there and do some FL boating. Looks like these these kids are having a BLAST.

The rusty ship they are jumping off is the Sapona. It was a rum smuggling vessel during prohibition (made of steel/concrete) and it ran aground during a hurricance. The US Military used it for bombing practice during WW2. The ship is in about 12 ft of water and is a landmark that you can see from miles away. The engine is still on it (stripped to the block) and is the size of a small car.

I had talked about doing this either here or on another forum and got called BS on by a few people. I went many years ago before the days of mini waterproof cameras...

Sea Doo jet boats are really a great boat for this run. Unsinkable, twin engines, shallow draft, and a well thought out layout for storage, coolers, etc.

Seeing it again makes me want to trade down.

I'd like to take my jetboat, but I think I would need 240 gallons of 105 octane to make the round trip. Not to mention no waves bigger than six inches:evilb:

I am in here somewhere http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmQzTZDU_Qw
