No hate here. Nothing but love for the boat, and respect for the owner.

Mark is a great guy that put his money(no matter the amount) into something we can all appreciate.

Kudos to him on raising the bar for what I consider a great piece of art and machinery.

I don't see any disrespect or problem with asking what someone does for a living in a conversation. Having someone walk up to you and the first thing out of their mouth is something like, "you a drug dealer to afford that boat?" gets annoying and old but to be curious about what someone does is just human nature I assume.

A) everyone likes to hear success stories. Young man done well, whether its via a family business or self made. You're right, this is America and I for one love to hear American success stories. It's inspiring which brings me to point 'B'.

B) Maybe some people would like to know what people do to afford these awesome works of art because the level of love for the sport, respect for the quality of build and passion to boat is equal...The means to get there however, are not equaled in many cases. Meaning, what are we doing wrong that we can't afford a boat like that that we all drool over? I know where I went wrong - civil service. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to strike out on my own and am always looking for opportunities to do so. But in the mean time, I'll be refined to buying used Cigarettes and the such;)

I didn't read it as anyone being disrespectful. Just a natural curiosity. Doesn't sound like any harm was meant.

So in the end, what exactly is his family business?
Maybe as a fellow OSO'r I can support it and help him buy his next MTI.:lolhit:
