JL Audio 8.8's

So I just finished installing two pairs of the new JL 8.8's and they are awesome! Much louder than the 7.7's & 6.5's. The bass is also very good they have bass you can feel and sound great. I replaced one pair of 7.7 components and one pair of 6.5 coaxials, I actually still have the 6.5's mounted until I figure out what I am going to do with the hole.

Now who wants to buy some 6.5's??

Nice rust stains. Hahah. Get some stainless screws. J/k. Speakers look great. I have 2 JL 10s to put in mine. Gonna be that and mb quart 6.5s for for highs and mids. Driven by 2 mb quart amps.

I have two M600/6 the 8.8's are running off two channels each bridged and the two pair of 7.7's are running off the regular channels, and I also have an M1400 running two 10" JL subs.

I knew somebody would say something, the sad thing is the screws are stainless, the breakers for the electric reels/downrigger are the real problem the posts aren't as stainless as they should be but I think I have stopped it now with some corrosion X just need to get the stains out. The rust around the 6.5 is from the staples in the coaming pad, have to take it off and redo it.

So how much for the 6.5's?

Anyone ever used a JL W3v3 sub in a boat? I just ordered one because they're supposed to excel in small enclosures, sealed or ported.

If you were to run 6 8.8's, would you even need a sub?

$135/pair shipped I have three pairs, the boat originally came with the 3 pairs of M650's and one amp.

I would love to put in one of the 13W7 subs but I think they are way to big and heavy to install in a boat that wasn't designed for them.

Define need...

I think you definitely could do without subs the bass is really good from the 8.8's
