So Mr. Lee - I assume it's still on Grand? I figured you might have something that rides in the rough.:silenced: I can't wait to blame my silly poor choices on you again this season. :) :)

I like the new hatch but that might be cause i like the old school design reminiscent of the past 90 model.
Motors look awesome in there. |
If you don't have anything nice to say shut the **** up. Artie

Classy and clean, my favorite Cig.:drink:

Im digging it. The whole boat is retro, so why not do the hatch. I think I personally would have done '91' on the hatch. Just to be a 1 upper.

i think the originals were 700 hp and number 3's
B lee I know I told u this in the keys, but hands down my favorite cig.... did u keep both hatches? might be a nice change of pace from time to time? on a different note my buddy dynoed one of his motors today for his ts 38 gun 785 hp 875 tq, any idea what that will net him and where to start with props ( same guy who owned Jim Lee's 28, and the other 28 down there with the 1/4 canopies) Shane Sherman |

I agree, that hatch would start late night dock fights around here :lolhit:
I can see a roll of black duct tape being used to make that first digit more accurate in the wee hours of the morning. Great looking boat and nice to hear positive feedback for vendors involved. |
Just so we're all on the same page:

The original 90MPH Editions had 850 Hawks with #5 drives. They were fast but the tranny's were only rated for about half of their horsepower at that time, so it was probably a crap-shoot on if you were going to make it home on two motors if you ran them very hard. |

Technology is a beautiful thing, almost 400 less hp and producing similar speeds. Awesome Brandon. Congrats!

Very nice sir, you're a lucky man..... :Score-101010: Absolutely a beautiful boat too. |
Your boat is very nice and you should be proud of it. The only challenge here is when you advertise a top speed you open yourself up to criticism and there is always someone out there that is bigger, faster, stronger, etc... But still a nice ride. Enjoy.

Its not Brandon "advertising" the top speed of his boat. Lookin' good B. And I LOVE the sun pad. |
Red hatch, 90 MPH hatch, either way you've got it on a 38 Top Gun that has THE most timeless & known graphic package on a Cigarette!
Again, congrats on the boat, can't wait to see it this summer. |

This picture hangs in my office, the best graphics package that Cigarette ever offered. 90 MPH was almost a magic threshold for a pleasure boat at the time. This boat, and the scene from "Miami Vice" where Tubs & Crocket we're heading to the Bahamas with Russ Ballard's "Voices" playing is why I own a "Cigar" boat!!!. It does not get any better than that, those two images are stuck in my head!!! CLASSIC!!!! BLee, OUTSTANDING on several levels!!!! Robbie

Love the boat! Classic and modern but keeping it clean.
Confused a bit though... Running 90mph and tachin' out at 900rpm? Is that just a top speed recall on the GPS? |

The paint is timeless but the real beauty of that boat is the simplicity. Boat runs 90 mph and is doing it with simple power (no blowers, no #6's, 87 octane fuel, warranty etc). That boat should run hundreds of hours before tearing into it for maintenance.
The expense of big power is two fold, one side is the money but the other is the reliability and ability to simply fire it up at a moments notice and go. Plenty of guys have figured out a slower day of boating is nicer than wrenching after 8 minutes of uber speed then boom. |
