509 Fuel Pressure, What is it ?

I have a 509 with 1 - Demon 750 on it. What kind of fuel pressure should I keep? The regulator came pre-set at 14 lbs .

I run 12 at idle and 8.5 at WOT. Wide open is what is important.

Ok Thanks

Steve I run Holleys not demons but I would imagine they should be the same. You don't want to lean out at WOT.

6 to 7 lbs. should be plenty at WOT shouldn't it?

B.R.S. 07-22-2002 08:03 PM

My engine guy said 7-8 at wot is perfect. He said never run it at 5 or less or it will lean out. Don't worry about idle unless the seats won't shut or gaskets start leaking.

The only reason I responded is because 14 or 12 or even 10 is way too much at idle. I think Barry Grant says theirs are safe to about 8psi. There should not be that much of a drop off from idle to W.O.T.
