bravo shift....
taking the drive off I know it has to be in forward... no motor in boat and shift cable just laying there... is forward in or out on the cable???
|
Doesn't have to be in any gear for a Bravo....
Have a second set of hands and a screwdriver handy to open the clasp with if you have to - those things are awkward for one person to handle. |
Just make sure the clasp is pulled out of the drive so it is fully open.

good deal, thanks. yeah I know the extra set of hands. Last bravo I pulled was by myself wedged under a teak swim platform. That was a b!tch!!

Forward on the shift handle makes the cable stick out of the transom assem.
To remount put the throttle handle in forward (so the cable sticks out) and pull the jaws out of the drive with a needle nose plier. Put the drive on some, leave a gap. Then you can see them mate up and lock. So the handle is in forward and the drive is in reverse, sounds crazy but it works best because you can see it hook up solidly. |
