One of the things Mark did not like was how small the footrest area was at the drivers dash, so we had another local guy Kevin Brown of Lakeway Boat Repair do some modifications for him. While doing the footrest Kevin noticed a smaller stringer that had broke loose and was rotting. He also took care of that and added floor support.

Like to start with saying the whole project turned out great and I can really appreciate all the
Work, Blood, Sweat, Tears, and $$$$$$$ that go into a project like this.
I do question the Foot Rest Issue though, I would have rather seen it moved ( Up ) persay and
continue it's same line of travel into the forward ( firewall ).
Moving it down creates a Water & Dirt Trap. Also does not keep a clean flowing cockpit now
issue for carpet fit, and ankle twister tripping on the hole.
Just my $.02
Great RESTO!

Kevin put 2 resin coated drain holes in the well. Also I am getting new carpet made for the entire cockpit because we actually widened the the floor space by tapering some of the side upholstery. We talked about making the footwell as you said but I wanted to stand a little lower in the bolster so I would catch a little less air and not have to reach so much for the throttles. I really fit nicely. A shorter person could stand behind the well, straddle it or use it. I think it lowered me almost 5". I am very pleased.

I know the feeling but "everyone dies, not everyone truly lives, go out and enjoy the ride". or as someone else said, "pain heals, chicks dig scars, glory never fades". in other words you did all this work, go enjoy it some. the old girl looks great, go put her through her paces and have fun.
