Cheeca Lodge Resort in Islamorada ***** and drive to KW would be my recommendation.....We've stayed at Hyatt on Front Street, PH: 305-295-9900. The rooms and ocean suites are great - pool, tiki, jaquzzi, all impecably maintained. Cheeca is awesome, then you have a couple places to explore, Islamorada, and Key West........PH: 305-664-4651 have a website, check it out. my .02

Definitely Cheeka Lodge in Islamorada (1.5 - 2 hrs from Key West) if you are not going to stay in Key West. Otherwise, the nicest is the Wyndham, but pricey, and the only hotel in Key West, I believe, with a nice sand beach.

We always liked to stay on Marathon. It is about in the middle of the keys, and lets you explore in either direction. Sombrero Reef is beautiful, 7 mile bridge, gulf and ocean access, and 45 minutes from Key West.

Hey ClassCig38 when are you going to the Cheeca again maybe we can hook up. Don't let my wife know though;)

The Hilton is nice...

If your intent on Key West, look into renting a condo. We stayed at a nice place next to the marriot and saved a bunch. The Reach is nice and the Ocean Key House is the place to stay if you don't mind spending some money.

Ocean Key is nice, but pricey. I've stayed at the Palms a couple of times. Nice little place on White St. Nice pool and Tiki bar, and you can walk downtown. Les than $100.00 per nite. Don't forget to go to Marthas for dinner. Best resturaaunt on the island. Have fun!:D

The Banana Bay resort in Key West is nice. You can rent boats right near there. It's a little quieter than than off duval street. Depends on what you are looking for.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will follow up and let you know where we stay. :)

Center court guest house's very nice one block off the strip so it's quiet.
