well if we are talking older hulls I have some facts from when 25 boats ran the same merc 500's in offshore boat racing./
1998 national sbi champ Martin Sanborn Fountain 38 1999 world champion ( beating 20 or so other boats including OL and Cig)David Knight Fountain 38 2000 national Champ Roger Ausley Fountain 38 ( same boat as above. Proving at more than one time Fountain being fastest w same power |
1550 Sterlings w/ PSIs...and probably some juice, because you don't pick up 7mph on one pass when the other two are within 1-2mph of each other. I applaud the boat before the bottom fell out of it...twice...it's for sale over at shogren...
and the other boat, the OL Kilo boat that went up against it with the RaceCrafters...I wonder where that boat is ;) |
Wasn't it only 2 passes.....

I think they were Sterlings. There is youtube video out there somewhere that shows them getting into the boat and I think a hatch was open.

You might be right, but to do a proper average I thought it was 3.

How about STATEMENT? Didn't there 42V run over 140 with stock power? Not sure how that measures up, but, it sounds pretty solid, it wasn't a light weight "one off" race boat either. Although you could probably buy several used Fountains that where almost as fast for the same loot.

Yep, few videos of it online.
