Boating Magazine and Miss Geico

With the avg speed of boats climbing Boating Magazine called us to discuss speed and safety for the general boating public. We know you guys know this stuff but we figured we would share it with you. Some positive exposure for our sport in any case.

Great read. Funny how they didn't have a pic of the Cig Mark took them out in.

Rest assured I did you guys proud.... They left out of the story the little speed run off Miami beach I put them through. Big smiles all the way around ... Let's jus say they got some clarity of what "offshore" is about. hooyah!

Great article, nicely done.

“I assume that the other person is not aware of me,” he says. “In the race boat I know they’re professionals next to me, but I have to assume, as we go into a turn at 140 mph, that they may have an issue I don’t know about.” When he’s on the water with his family, Granet doesn’t count on other boaters to even know he’s there.

“That big sport-fish that’s coming at me, does he see me?” he says. “I’m in a small boat with a white hull on a cloudy day; I’m not so sure.”

If you find yourself in a situation, like that center-console did cutting in front of a cruiser, you have to find a way to get out of it. Think fast.
Always true.

Awesome article....

I always check my jet engine, check everything before I get my jet boat out on the water because it can runs as fast as 50 mph on water.
