you need to change the yellow if you want a significant change in the look even if you just burned an orange fade over it. Maybe change that blue and red to purple and silver or something. The Yellow and the geometry of the graphic is the biggest thing holding it back. Its possible to add some elements to get it going as well. Yellow and red together never seems to work for me, always reminds me of McDonalds (sorry lol :D)

I did not want to get carried away with the paint I just wanted to do something with the Blue,,,maybe I could cover it up with a checkered flag

Tom A. 04-25-2013 11:03 AM

The main thing I would do would be to pull the upper yellow stripe through to the front and loose that wavy top of the red. Maybe even have it overlap the triangle so it all pulls together.

Knot 4 Me 04-25-2013 11:06 AM

What about black to tie into the black at the base of the windscreen sides?

JETTDOGG 04-25-2013 11:41 AM

What about getting rid of the triangle, straighten out the waves in the red and bringing the red up onto the rear above the rail and do something other than the yellow like glassdave suggested.
The triangle looks liike someones after thought to me

Whatever color you go with over the blue, I would extend the lower corner of the triangle forward onto the hull to form a separate stripe running along the bottom edge of the hull and then terminating about halfway. That would offset the stripes above it and look less like an afterthought. You could even keep the blue if you did this, or go with something like a purple or orange.

I agree with getting rid of the waviness along the red stripe, and I'm not a big fan of "ketchup and mustard" either, but by the time you do all this, you might as well just wrap the whole side of the boat and do something completely different.

Looking better!

Nice work, ridefast. Might look good with a checkered flag motif worked into the stripe, although that is becoming a bit passe' in some opinions.

JETTDOGG 04-25-2013 04:09 PM

+1 on ridefast's idea

I like Ride's idea with one minor change- change the yellow to white to brighten it and give more separation to the blue.

Powerquest230 04-25-2013 08:00 PM
