Please go back and read posts #8 & 36. Maybe that will help you with your observation.

I believe I read it right

My comment was not directed toward you in anyway. It was more of a general statement, but lightly directed at the person who suggest the DCB wasn't as close as it appeared...

There was NO room to move to the right because of the shoreline. So he was doing exactly what you said he should do. This was NOT a poker run day. Just boaters coming back to Lake Havasu from up river. I'd say 3' was too close so your guess was completely wrong!

Go back and read the boating rules that apply the pontoon "pilot" in this situation. They clearly state " You must also maintain your current course and speed until the give-way vessel passes, or YOU ENTER A DANGEROUS SITUATION" ... this tells me the pontoon "pilot" must not have felt he was in danger... Now if you will look at the 17 second mark, looks to me like there is some room.... As far as "nervous laughter" some of these folks were cheering like they were on a roller coaster as it went by.

mallatt442 Have you boated that area. I live here, I boat here and have talked to both pilots. They both confirmed NO room to the right. Oh I didn't know they had "Special Pontoon rules" Last time I looked the lead vessel has the right of way in this situation. Wonder what TM would say about this situation? Oh and all that noise makes it right. Please post an advisory before you come boating here. Thanks in advance.

Paty, I didn't mention right of way or "special pontoon rules". It is clear the pontoon is the stand-on vessel in this situation and should maintain course.........until you enter a dangerous situation. If and when I come to Havasu, can I stay at your house? I feel we are starting to bond......
