Sorry to hear about such low numbers, I think cash we had about 40 or so with us last yr??? What can be done to bring back the numbers......

I don't know but a little more "promotion" might help.
Nobody even mentioned the run til a few weeks ago. Usually we are talking about this run in early March. Maybe a local group needs to get more involved. EDIT: Apparently the charity was given a large donation. That is a good sign. |
Lower numbers but we still had a great time!! :)

Lets face facts the reason you can not go for 200 dollars is that we have to remember that most poker runs are done to make money for a charity. Stu and Jackie as nice as they are do it to pay there personal bills. It is a business for them so they have to charge enough money to cover the event and pay themselves. As you can see from the best poker hand prize they are not paying out money like most other poker runs. The garmin is most likely donated and the 500 credit is for a future poker run charge so it really does not cost anything for them. Again Stu and Jackie are great people but poker runs for them are a business and not to make money for a charity. Just my 02cents

Awesome weekend. Less boats but that actually made it a little more personal. Stu and Jackie did a great job as always.
Cashbar, to answer your question, a good start to bringing back numbers to Jacksonville, woukd be if a certain OSO moderator wouldnt be so negative towards the organizer or who is running it. it is a great event for our town regardless of who runs it. both Bill and Stu do a great job putting it on! |

I don't think any of your points are correct.
Even if you count the membership fee it's about double.Alot of performance boat OWNERS are members anyway As for the safety fee after paying $$$ for boat, trailer, truck, fuel and ins. for truck and boat. $150 for trained professional people to be on the water is were I would decide to cut back on $$$ We all do this for the show can ayone else get you in a magazine and on a tv show Until you own a boat, pay the way, donate to the charity you will never get it stu and jackie also help raise over 20 THOUSAND for camp amigo Bill's charity |

As for the rest, I don't care about TV and the magazine. I care about my friends and I go where they want to go and where WE feel our money is best put to use. Boat poker runs are offshoots of car/bike runs and they ALL started as charity events. Even without a boat I spent almost $30k last year just attending runs. I donated time and money. Soon enough I will be dragging a boat along and it will still be to the runs I find deserving and worthy of my time and money. EDIT: Apparently the charity was given a large donation. That is a good sign. |
Yes it is true!! Last night at dinner FPC raised over $20,000 for Camp Amigo.
