6's and 7's on beaks is more of a handling issue with the NXT drive that issues with it from what I've heard.

We did a Whipple upgrade on a set of 700's with two stage water pumps, new intercooler fittings and computers and had zero issues on those changes with a 44 Outerlimits.

Yes, and slow you down.

#6 boats are faster than SCX's..... I have never been in #6 boat. The few SCX'S boats I have been in we're darn fast I would have thought that if 6's were faster that's what they would have been running.

I have a friend with a 38 fountain #6's with 700's that are up to about 850 hp each the boat will run 120+ all white boat with grey interior. If I remember correctly he is planning on a skater for the next boat so he might be selling. pm me if you want me to find out. Also to your question you will need the 700's and 6's to get the speed you are looking for.

Whatever the reason, 6's are just bad ass and worry free with the upgrades many do to the stock 700's

Thanks for the advice. Based on the feedback, saving a buck isn't worth missing time on the water given the short time we have in Ohio.

Do you have opinions on boats? I've always thought Fountain was a quality build, but when you compare prices of fountains to outerlimits & cigarettes (engines/drives comparable), OL's & Cigs are usually 1.5 to 2x more expensive. I've found 07 35ft lighting prices about the same as an 02-03 Cig/OL. Why?

Fountain makes a fantastic product. Think of it this way, Fountain = Z06
Cig- AMG Benz
Outerlimits- Lambo
I love a Z06 :)
All in all, they are all very nice and very fast rigs.
