Actually, the modern outdrive was the idea of a merc employee/engineer who pitched the idea, merc wasn't interested in it and didnt think there was a future. Guy left merc, went to work for volvo.. I have one of the early volvos sitting in my garage mated to the 100 hp dual carbed 4 cylinder that came with it. All original as purchased from volvo in a crate in 1964.

Short vid of the Lake Chelan Poker Run from last year. I heard the attendance wasnt great ( overcast and cool) and the water got nasty later in the day becuase of the wind. 4' rollers in one of the deepest lakes in the US = not much fun for the smaller boats.
